Opioid Overdose Data

Fatal opioid overdoses in Wilson County have fluctuated over time, underscoring the importance of continued prevention and intervention efforts. Reported deaths were 19 in 2020, rising to 25 in both 2021 and 2022, and peaking at 36 in 2023. While deaths decreased to 15 in 2024, numbers increased again to 24 in 2025—a reminder that sustained community response remains critical.

Naloxone Data

Expanding access to life-saving overdose reversal tools across our community

Since September 2020, more than 4,000 individuals have been trained to administer naloxone, and over 7,000 naloxone kits have been distributed, increasing access to life-saving overdose reversal resources across our community.

PORT Program Impact

A year-by-year look at lifesaving interventions in our community

The Post-Overdose Response Team (PORT) has distributed 288 kits to EMS patients since we began tracking this data in December 2020. These efforts help connect individuals to support and recovery resources following overdose incidents.

Lock Your Meds Campaign

Measuring progress in prevention: medication lock boxes and disposal kits in action

Prevention efforts continue to grow through the Lock Your Meds campaign. In 2025 alone, more than 3,000 medication disposal kits were distributed, helping reduce access to unused medications and prevent misuse.
